1.  Audit your current supports

  • Review the accommodations you’re already using in your classroom.
  • Ask yourself: Am I over-supporting anywhere? Am I under-supporting anywhere?
  • Identify at least one place you see “just-right” support promoting engagement.

2.  Adopt the All–Some–One mindset

  • List supports you provide for all students (universal).
  • Identify the supports you provide for some students (small group).
  • Clarify which are individualized—and confirm those are truly needed.
  • Adjust where necessary to avoid over-relying on one-on-one accommodations.

3.  Observe for engagement signals

  • Pick 2–3 students and watch them during instruction, classwork, and assessments.
  • Note whether they are engaged (leaning in, participating, persisting) or disengaged (waiting, avoiding, frustrated).
  • Use engagement as your “litmus test” for whether accommodations are just right.

4.  Reflect and adjust regularly

  • At the end of each week, ask yourself: Which accommodations worked? Which need tweaking?
  • Remember—just-right support is dynamic. It changes as students gain skills and confidence.

5.  Leverage Accomods

  • Use Accomods to save time by finding, understanding, and implementing the just-right accommodations for your learners.
  • Let the tool guide you so your energy stays on teaching and supporting—not searching.
